Interested in the Future of Work? Listen to these podcasts

That we love exploring different aspects of The Future of Work is not a secret. We do that in all different kind of ways. By organizing Meetups ( in The Netherlands), by helping clients find new ways to organize themselves, and by reading articles on this topic. But also by listening to the latest episodes of our favourite podcasts. In this post, we share our favourite podcasts on the Future of Work, including our favourite episodes.

Leadermorphosis

Let’s start with the podcast of Lisa Gill, called Leadermorphosis, not in the last place because she interviewed me for an episode as well. Leadermorphosis is a podcast exploring the emerging world of self-management and progressive organizations. Each episode features a guest thought leader or practitioner offering a unique perspective on new and innovative ways of working.

This episode, where Lisa is interviewing Gary Hamel is one of my favourites. Gary Hamel is one of the world’s leading business thinkers, Professor at London Business School and director of The Management Lab. In this conversation, they talk about how we can bust bureaucracy for good, make our organizations more experimental, and reinvent what it means to be a leader.

Adam has been Wharton’s top-rated professor for six straight years and has been recognized as one of Fortune’s 40 under 40 and the world’s 10 most influential management thinkers. Adam researches, as he calls it himself, ‘How to make work suck less’.

In this episode Adam is diving deeper into the World Without Bosses, featuring the known case of Self-management at Morning Star:

Rework

Rework is a podcast by the makers of Basecamp about a better way to work and run your business. While the prevailing narrative around successful entrepreneurship tells you to scale fast and raise money, they think there’s a better way. The also wrote two best-selling books, one called ‘Rework’ and the other ‘It doesn’t have to be crazy at work’.

This great episode is about dealing with your emotions at work:

The Future Of Work Podcast

And last but definitely not least, The Future of Work Podcast by Jacob Morgan. A weekly show where Jacob has in-depth discussions with senior executives and business leaders around the world on the future of work. Each episode of the podcasts explores a new topic and features a special guest. Why is the world of work changing? How is work changing? What do you and your organization need to do about it? Listen to the Future of Work Podcast to find out!

I really liked the episode with Loren Shuster from LEGO, using storytelling in their leadership: https://thefutureorganization.com/lego-storytelling-leadership-model/
