We placed a big red push button in the middle of the office. So, it gave our employees the possibility to push this button when they felt it was needed. In our case (consultancy firm), it was when a client assignment was totally not what he/she wanted. In terms of location, job, relation with the client or something else that was out of his/her league to adjust.
We literally placed a big red button, on a pole in the middle of the office. The big red button was connected with the IFTT (If This Then That) service, which triggered an email to the Management Team. That was the fun part for an IT consultancy firm :-). But the more important part was when we introduced it to our office. By introducing this, we gave our employees the power to decide on their own assignments.
In our case a client job. But it can be whatever you agree with each other. U can even place it in meeting rooms, to give everyone the ability to stop the meeting if it's not productive.
It gives the employees the authority to stop something they really don't like.
