Giving feedback can be hard, receiving feedback can be even harder. But it's so important in team collaboration and also in personal growth. This prototype is to make the first step a bit easier. The name of this prototype comes from the combination of feedback and speed dating, and that is what the setup look like.
What steps to take for the practice
With a group between 8-20 people in one room. Arrange the seats so that it is easy to switch the 'dates' very quickly, preferably 2 lines facing each other. Make sure everyone have a pen and some paper to write down the feedback they receive.
You have 1 minute to give feedback to the person opposite you, and 1 minute to receive. As a facilitator, make sure to be very strict in the timing. To keep the proces running nice and smoothly. After both sides gave their feedback, it's time to rotate. Now repeat that until it's enough. With 20 people it would take a lot of time to give and receive feedback from everyone, so try to 'read the room'.
The best results are achieved with a group of people who work closely together.
