Practice desciption
In decentralized organisations, where there is not one person or an executive team charged with making decisions or setting strategy, it's everyone's responsibility to 'listen to the system' and 'scan for patterns'
What steps to take for the practice
Once or twice a month, start your meeting with a round using the prompt:
'What are you noticing in the system'
Expected results
In my experience, this practice is very valuable in building a coherent picture of the organisation, what it might need next, and to recognise that we need multiple scanners to see the whole.
