What steps to take for the practice
Transparency about the financial status of the organization is a good way to start. After that, you can open up calendars, performance indications and later even salaries if the colleagues agree. The last one is useful only when colleagues have a say in the matter about salaries of other colleagues. If not: having transparency to be transparent is in and of itself useless and bad reasoning.
