Description
sipgate is a Voice over IP provider that is lean and agile to its core. That in and of itself is not so remarkable, but they are very consistent in applying agile and lean principles: of course, they use standups, Kanban, Lean startup, a lot of post-its et cetera. But they also have full transparency on all numbers, no titles, no managers, no departments, no budgets, no salary-negotiations, and no overtime. They use an old school time clock on the wall (okay, it is digital, but that's it) to record their working hours and address people when they work more than 40 hours. For the rest, they strive to have as little bureaucracy as possible: The HR team calls themselves "Only good things" and consists of two people, supporting the teams, for example in hiring their own candidates. There is no development budget and everyone books what they deem helpful. The only condition: You need to share what you learned via intranet or on an open podium Friday.
Speaking of open podiums: They host a lot of events and are explicitly inviting guests and other companies to share their practices and learn from each other, so if you are interested make sure to visit them in Duesseldorf.
