Practice desciption
Create an open library. Install a few bookshelves that get filled over time with interesting literature. Books on the company, branch organizations, and also just fun reading, etc. Because making people read more is never a bad thing.
What steps to take for the practice
Have people put in already read books on some shelves. Make sure that nobody is keeping track of the books, just use common sense and ask people if they would be so kind as to return the books. Put in a company sticker if necessary, but don’t keep track! It will be time-consuming and an obstacle for most to even go there.

7 February 2020 at 08:36We have one too at Schuberg Philis. We ask the lender to make a picture of the book in a dedicated slack channel or use an ISBN app. We have a librarian (guess who 😉 to buy books regularly and we frequently ask to donate a book that every colleague should read.

9 February 2020 at 13:52We got one too, it is easy and great the only problem is that not everyone reads so I scored lower in results.
The solution is a book club: one chapter a week and we discuss one lunchtime a week.
We started ours so I do not have the results yet!

7 April 2020 at 18:44I have created a similar proposal using a Trello board. The purpose of the library is to contribute to the professional development of the coworkers to increase the impact within and outside the company.
Different functionalities are available inside the project:
– Peer to peer physical borrowing system.
– Sharing digital resources (books, webinars, podcasts).
– Creation of a book wishlist that we invite the company to buy for their employees.
– Offering your trainnings or asking for trainings that other co-workers can offer.
– Recommendations (by joining the trello card that represents the document)
– Comments and reviews on each document

1 September 2019 at 20:32Good idea! I love to read and get inspired. Will bring the books I read into the office tomorrow! And a tip, if a book is occupied all the time, then just buy another copy. Apparently, it’s an interesting book!
