Create a healthy team in a fun and motivating way by starting a health challenge. Everyone has its own health challenge. Whether it's losing weight, getting stronger or stop smoking. By creating a challenge with the team, you can facilitate a way for everyone to get more healthy.
What steps to take for the practice
Pre-announce your idea, so that everyone can think of their own challenge. Make sure it’s optional for everyone, not mandatory;
Set up a meeting to announce the health challenge. Think about if you want to give something in return if someone reaches his goal;
Create a poster or flip-over big enough to fit every participants goals. You can use the following columns
Name - Name of the teammember
Goal - What is his/her goal for the health challenge
Goal date - What date is the goal reached?
Motivation - Why do you want to do this?
What do you need - What do you need in order to reach the goal (f.e. gear, buddy or time)
In the meeting, announce the plan. Think about if you want to be the first to add your name on the list.
Make sure the poster is hanging somewhere public, so that everybody sees it and thinks about it;
You can even make it part of your meeting rhythm, to get an update on everyones status.
